The chest, probably in cedar wood is covered with fabric with iron closure and seals, the relief decoration is painted with mineral colors.
In the front on a red background there is a dense floral decoration that takes up the classic motifs of Tibetan fabrics, in the center a quatrefoil panel enclosing a ferocious writhing dragon grasping a flaming pearl.
Tibetan chests and trunks were used as storage in homes and monasteries.
